Color Dye then Tink, or Tink then Dye

Do I dye first and tink or tink then Dye. I don't want to effect my risk of either by doing it in the wrong order.

Dye first, the higher the Armor level the more chances of a dye failer, and armor level reduction.

The skill check is not related to the armour level apparently, I have read many discussions about this subject and the conclusion is that tinkering does not increase the skill check. Yeah, as far as I've heard it is only the games sick sense of humor that causes people to fail when dyeing 10x tinked armor

tinked armor used to be a fail due to a bug in the system but thats all been fixed for a really long time so dye what ya want when ya want

I second all that info... tinkering does not increase the risk of failure... ALTHOUGH this game is rather cruel and 10x tinked armor does seem to fail more often 
I have a Level 80 mule who can color your armor for you if you need help.
